Practical Training Requirements

Note: We provide you with 80 hours of practical training. You do not need to source this yourself!

This program includes a minimum of 80 hours of practical hands-on training for students If students wish to extend their practical training over & above the minimum requirement, they may choose the Extended Practical Training Module as an add-on to their program.

  • Training with a qualified Instructor at one of Command Dog Training School's venues on either a Saturday day for 1-2 hours, a Wednesday evening for 1-2 hours or a combination of either days.
  • Practical workshop (Instruction skills session) on a Sunday at DogZone (7 hours). Furthermore, students will need to provide an untrained dog for participation in a Basic Obedience program as part of their practical training requirements.
  • Training at least one untrained dog to Intermediate Level 1 Obedience - 40 Hours minimum.

RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) is offered to suitably qualified/experienced students.

IMMUNISATION: It is mandatory for all students to be immunised against Tetanus before they commence their course. Evidence of immunisation must be provided to the course director at the commencement of the program.
