Overview of a structured Obedience Program Includes:

  • Exercises taught
  • Developing a glossary of commands for instructors
  • Text reading requirements

Assignment to qualified instructor
Student trainers will be allocated to a training venue for the commencement of their practical training requirements which is included in the CIC training program

Mod 1 Tutorial 2 - Structuring an effective training program

To be a competent Instructor/Trainer, students must understand the concepts of Adult Learning. This module incorporates both theoretical & practical sessions as part of the learning outcomes

Mod 1 Tutorial 3 - Dog Training & Behavioural Modification

In this tutorial session, students will be taught the origins of dog behaviour & how it relates to & influences the domestic dog.

  • Critical Periods of Development

Obedience Training Theory.

  • How Dogs Learn
  • Conditioning behaviours
  • Developing working-happiness between dog & owner

1st Major assignment

Student trainers will be given a selection of essay topics to choose from for this component of the CIC program. The aim of this component is to provide student trainers an opportunity to research a topic using a broad range of resources. It also provides for self-learning through this means.
